omwana wa maama
"Omwana wa maama" (fill d’una mare) és una reflexió sobre les dinàmiques de poder i la construcció del que anomenem correcte i erroni en contextos de desigualtat cultural i històrica. Neix d’una experiència viscuda a Uganda i gira entorn d’una història d’infància narrada des de l’edat adulta: el relat d’un nen que roba unes sabates.
Les sabates no són només un objecte; simbolitzen allò que ens manca, el desig i la voluntat d’habitar una altra realitat. Posar-se en les sabates de l’altre pot ser un gest de comprensió, però també de projecció.
Venim del mateix lloc —de la mare que ens ha parit—, però creixem immersos en sistemes de valors que modelen la nostra manera d’interpretar el món. La nostra mirada no és imparcial: està definida per allò que hem après i per allò que se’ns ha inculcat. Aquest projecte és la representació d’aquest joc d’ombres.

"Omwana wa maama" (child of a mother) is a reflection on power dynamics and the construction of what we call right and wrong in contexts of cultural and historical inequality. It stems from an experience in Uganda and revolves around a childhood story told from adulthood: the account of a boy stealing a pair of shoes.
Shoes are not just an object; they symbolize what we lack, the desire, and the longing to inhabit another reality. Stepping into someone else’s shoes can be an act of understanding, but also of projection.
We all come from the same place —the mother who gave birth to us— yet we grow up immersed in value systems that shape how we interpret the world. Our perspective is not neutral: it is defined by what we have learned and what has been instilled in us. This project is the representation of this shadow play.
